Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 20201211 Rel. 42330

I tried to connect my Hue bridge (V2 BSB002, fw version is the latest: 1942135050) but even I connect it to my Main Deco directly through an Ethernet cable, I continuously get a "No device found" message from the Deco App.

Way I tried: + sign on the top right corner, then selecting Smart Devices -> Here I select Philips-Hue -> Next -> On the screen "Connect Hue Bridge to Deco": Next -> then it is Searching and sends a message: No device found.

Any idea?

@AZs

Hi, thank you very much for your kind feedback.

We might need to report your feedback to the senior engineers for further assistance.

At the same time, could you please help me check the following information:

  1. Is the Deco working on the wireless router mode, or access point mode?
  2. Could you please provide a picture of your network structure from the modem to Deco units?
  3. Since firmware 1.5.0 just released recently, did you have this issue before?

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Update

If you failed to add Philips Hue bridges as the smart devices when Deco M9 plus is on the access point mode, please try to update the following firmware:

please feel free to update here with further improvements.

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

  1. It is in Access Point mode.
  2. Picture? or network diagram? very simple: WAN comes in to my provider's router. Then the router's LAN port connects to our home GigaSwitch. Main Deco, Hue and some wired devices reside on the LAN port of the switch.
    During my test I followed the TP-Link instruction and I connected it temporarily to the LAN port of the Deco (thus NOT through the GigaSwitch): same result, do not find it)
  3. The reason I upgraded the firmware was because it did NOT recognize the Hue bridge with V1.4.3. I was hoping it will do with the latest firmware.

The Hue bridge was already linked with an even earlier version of the firmware (Before 1.4.3) I just did not use it. Now I wanted to connect it, but with this new FW I failed.

The strange thing is that it seems the Deco even does not search for the Hue: when I click on the "Next" button on the screen of "Connect Hue Bridge to Deco", the Searching (blue) screen appears only momentarily - just blinks - and the immediately the page of "No device found - Try Again" comes.

@AZs

Did you assign a fixed IP address to the Hue bridge using the Hue app?

If so, make sure that fixed IP address is handled by the "Address reservation" option in the Deco app.
And in the Hue app you should set the Hue bridge to obtain it's IP address automatically. (DHCP should be set to true)

That's what did the trick for me....

@TP-Link

I haven't "played" with the Deco-Hue for a long time, but now I had some time during Christmas.

Unfortunately it still does not work: "No device found" after connecting the two device through network cable.

Deco in AccessPoint mode, FW version 1.5.1 Build 20210126

Hue Bridge (BSB002) has DHCP enabled and a sw version of 1.48.1948086000

Any resolution?

@Pjotr

Dear Pjotr,

Isn't Address Reservation works on Router mode?

My Decos are in AccessPoint mode.
