My RE450 asks for a PIN rather than password and wont allow me to switch to Password mode

Below the Pin required area, select "Connect using a security key instead" option and enter Wifi password as the FAQ here: 

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2054/

Range extender use the same wifi password as your router, hope this could help~
