DHCP labels can not be changed

Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20210205 rel.12759(4555)

Hi,

I noticed that DHCP labels can not be changed during the IP reservation.

I can see "*", "--" or "UNKNOWN" labels instead of the correct names that I set.

Would you please help?

Thank you!

Hi Guys,

I have found a workaround. We can set correct labels in the "Network Map":

and they will be good looking in DHCP reservations place, so you no need to rename it there:

But you still can not manage labels from DHCP reservation place that have to be fixed by Support.

@kononenkoni

Have you tried changing status - Disable => Enable or rebooting the device to force refreshing this info ?

@Ivaylo, yes, I did - nothing happened, still the same issue. Looks like a firmware issue.

That's a possibility too. Any special characters you've used in the description ?

@Ivaylo, tried different options: one word, several words with "_" or "-" instead of spaces and got the same issue.

@kononenkoni

Can you please confirm what are those devices, and what are the names you tried to assign? Do you have this issue before you upgrade the AX6000 firmware to the 1.2.1 version?

Try to delete them from the Address Reservation list, and re-add them again.

Hi, I tested a lot before open this thread, I tried to set different options: "name", "name1", "name_name", "name-name" and after refresh of the page I can see the same problem name as "*", "--", "UNKNOWN". I can not say if this problem was before a new update - it is a new router for me and I updated it to the last version and started with configuration after a firmware update. Sure, I did removing\disabling of reserved records - the problem still the same.

@kononenkoni

It seems to me that there's only one more thing you could try, before declaring it as a FW problem.

I presume you already have made a lot of configuring on the device, but that's a last resort and helps in many cases after FW upgrade and bizarre router behavior.

At your convenience you can hard reset (Method 1) and re-configure from scratch - then test again.

@Ivaylo, I tried today to make a hard reset and reproduce the issue - the issue was successfully reproduced after the factory reset.

Would someone try to reproduce this issue also?

@kononenkoni

Does that happen all the time with the same device's description you put or it happens with random devices ?

If it's the former, then you have to provide here the descriptions in question, so one can reproduce it.

I don't own AX6000 to test with, but I believe the support can do that.

@Ivaylo, I can not change any labels\descriptions, not specific ones. Let's hope that tp-link support will reproduce it and fix.
