WiFi speed stuck at 100mbps on Deco X20
WiFi speed stuck at 100mbps on Deco X20
I notice that i cannot get full speed after replace my maxis router with Deco X20.
My laptop (Qualcomm QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Adapter) show speed for WiFi is 433Mbps, but when I test using iPerf3, it show transfer rate it below 100Mbps. Distance between Deco and laptop just 2 meter without any wall in between. I should get speed more than that. During the test, i switch off my second M5 Deco which I connect by ethernet backhaul. Please help.
Below I attach screenshot for your referring.

I am not sure if it will be applicable to X20 or not, but with my M9Plus and M5 I could only get transfer speeds faster than 100Mbps when I disable 2.4GHz for Main Network in Deco app and leave no choice for mobile devices but to connect on 5GHz.
You can try, no harm doing that: disable 2.4GHz in WiFi configuration settings for Main Network, bounce WiFi connection on laptop and see if you'll get better results when band steering is off because only 5GHz is available.

If you find that disabling 2.4GHz increases WiFi speed substantially, I'll share with you how I dealt with devices that can only run on 2.4GHz, in my household. What I did would be applicable to your Deco mesh with X20.
If disabling 2.4GHz makes no difference, the problem is elsewhere. I am just sharing my experience.

I just disable 2.4Ghz but the result is still same.
Only 5 device connected to X20 with only 5Ghz enable and the result is very very very disappointed. BTW where TPlink support person?

Hi, How much speed you are supposed to get from the internet service provider?
Did you enable any QOS or high priority on the Deco?
--if yes, please go to Deco APP>>>QoS>>>(Set Application priority to Standard, Remove all high priority devices, set the Bandwidth to 1000Mbps upload and 1000Mbps download);
And there is a new firmware for Deco X20 V1.2 recently:
https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202103/20210311/Deco_X20_V1.2_1.5.1_20210204.zip
If possible, please also update the firmware to be the latest one to have a look;
By the way, have you evet tested the speed on other mobile devices, and did they also have a limited speed?
Thank you very much.

Deco app display i already has a latest firmware. Should i update firmware for X20 manually?
If X20 has a latest version of firmware, why Deco app not update it automatically?
