Model: TD-W8961N
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6

I have a TD-W8960N ADSL Router/Modem. It has been sitting in the box for years. I've been renting a Comtrend modem from my ISP, Execulink, since last September but I want to start using my TP-Link unit. However, I'm being stopped dead in my tracks as soon as I access its interface. I'm getting this weird message and I don't know what it means...

I suspect it's asking me to update the firmware but I don't know that for sure. I've chatted with two of TP-Link's reps and neither one of them was at all helpful. I sent this image to both of them and I don't think either one of them had ANY idea what this is. Long story short - neither one of them could help me figure this out. I'm dead in the water until/unless I can get someone from TP-Link to CALL me and help me figure this out... unless someone on here knows what this message is and how I can make it go away. The chat reps have absolutely no idea what they're doing; they're useless. Why do so many tech companies have such crappy support?

@Bodrey

Hi, Would it be the same when you try to access via http://tplinkmodem.net?

And did this page come out once you input 192.168.1.1, or after hitting some buttons on the web interface?

If possible, have you tried to unplug everything from the 8960N except for the power adapter, then connect your laptop to the Wi-Fi of the TD-W8960(make sure the IP address on the computer is correct, such as 192.168..1.xxx, gateway way 192.168.1.1); then try to access via http://192.168.1.1 or http://tplinkmodem.net;

If still the same, since you have reset the modem several times, it is more likely the modem might be broken and needs to be replaced;

Thank you very much.
