Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20201023 rel.69987(5553)

Exact Hardware Version is  Archer AX ver 1.20
Firmware is updated to latest available - 1.2.0 Build 20201023 rel.69987(5553)

The time limit set under parental control for any device do not get reset back to normalcy when the time limit end. That is If internet blocking time set is from 11PM to 6AM, 11PM internet access gets stopped. But after 6AM, internet connectivity do not get restored automatically. Tried with disabling IPv6 as mentioned in community support. But the bug is not solved.

Alternatively when tried by setting a particular website between 11PM to 6AM, then  also the time control for particular site (Eg. www.youtube.com) do not get controlled under parental controls.

In summary both time limit control for device and/or a particular website under parental controls are not functioning as advertised for Archer AX20 model.

Request you to provide the software update so that above basic parental controls will start working and also if possible bring some more parental features. Awaiting a timely solution keeping the brand value of TP-Link.

@Kevin_Z Thank you so much. I applied this already. Later TP-Link support provided the following options and DHCP lease time setting changed worked,

We request check system time is correct or not

how to check go to advanced>>system>>Time and language>>Check time of Router

if it is correct we request you to change dhcp lease time from  120 min to 90 and check  it once

Open login page go to advanced>>Network>>DHCP>>keep address lease time 90 min save.

If issue persist  try address reservations settings or put static IP to that devices and check

Open login page go to advanced>>Network>>DHCP>> dhcp address reservation >>Click add option >>Enter MAC address of that device and IP address>>save

@SateeshJ

Hi, please firstly check and ensure the Time Settings on the AX20 is correct, you may refer to the below guide:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1547/

Then refer to the instructions to reconfigure the Parental Control settings on the AX20 for the specific devices in the network again:

@SateeshJ

Do you mean the issue was resolved by changing the DHCP release time on the AX20? This is interesting, we haven't notice that the DHCP release time will affect the Parental Control setting.

Yes. It worked. The solution options were provided by TP-Link support and not identified by me.

@Kevin_Z I applied the static IP solution given by them also. Anyway issue was solved.

The only thing missing now is no option to apply the time limit to the specific websites. Request you to consider it for next software version improvements.

I mean something like below;

  1. Limit www.youtube.com from 10PM to 7AM and/or
  2. Limit www.youtube.com for 2 hours for the day.

If the above options can work, the main purpose of buying this device with parental control is done. Because do not want to stop total internet or youtube.com (as it have many educational videos also) rather want to impose the time limit.

Request you to do the needful through next software update as the above will really help parents.
