So I wanted a better solution for my home with recently switching to Virgin Media (Home hub 3) and I just wasn't getting the speeds and reliability, I was hoping for so I switched to the M5 mesh system. All was fine, the speeds have improved, reliability improved, infinitely more coverage even when using just two of the mesh units instead of 3 and all was fine.

I've set up the network with the M5 as the router with the Virgin router/modem being in modem mode, as this is apparently the preferred way to do things and causes less conflicts with the network and such.

Lately though I've been noticing that when I'm downloading things via my torrenting programs (qbittorrent and qttransmission) inititally when the download starts, my network (at least on my computer) comes to a standstill. I refresh the page, nothing happens, the torrent itself will be downloading at miniscule speeds, i.e. 50-100Kbps for say 20-30 seconds, after this, the network returns to normal and the speeds via torrents also return to normal and I get anywhere from 13-16Mbps (I use a powerline adapter in my office).

I'm just wondering if there could be something that is going wrong with the M5? Maybe it needs a restart? Maybe my settings are incorrect or something that effect? I'm just wondering where I can go from here and what I can do to hopefully improve this and furthermore, if anyone else had a similar run in the mesh routers?
