Model: TL-WN822N
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Hi, i've just bought a brand new adapter, and since windows installed a "windows" driver, i went on the website to grab an official one, but to my surprise after a little while it crashed my system (21H1 windows 10 pro) , with a BSOD "DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION" of rtwlanu.sys , this does not happen with the windows drivers (2019 is the date ), TP link drivers show up as 2015 as date of creation.

Any newer drivers? or should i use windows ? (windows reports these as Atheros drivers?)

Windows driver are : 1030.38.712.2019

@c300g97  Hello,

For TL-WN822N V5 the latest driver is still the one published in 2018.

You could test the Windows driver performance, it works stable on your computer, you could stick with the Windows driver.

Here is also a chipset driver for TL-WN822N V5& V4 which you could give it a try:

@Solla-topee Hi! thanks for your reply..

So far the windows driver has not caused any BSOD, sometimes it cause a random lag which did not happen on the ufficial drivers, but i'm not complaining as long as it doesn't BSOD, what does the chipset driver do?

@c300g97 Hello,

If the Windows driver works quite stably you, please continue to use it.

Chipset driver is normally newer but not thoroughly tested by tp-link, it could be an option when official firmware does not work properly.
