Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 14.3

My second deco cuts my internet speed in half. I get 300 Mbps on the first one and 150-170 on the second. If you stand in the same place at which the second deco is placed and connect to the first deco you get the same 300 mega bit connection, so they have a clear signal. but if you latch on to the second deco then the speeds decrease. One thing I've tried is to make an arch around the back of the deco with aluminum foil, and that seemed to increase the speeds a bit.

@what_dude

Hi, as for the arch around the back of the deco with aluminum foil, I am quite curious what it is and can I have a picture of that?

Do you have any wired laptop so that you could test the Ethernet speed from the 2nd Deco as well?

How about the signal source strength on the 2nd Deco, 2-3 bars?

By the way, a new firmware 1.5.0 has released, and could you please also update to the latest firmware:

Thank you.

@TP-Link I did actually check with an Ethernet cable, and I’m getting the right speed. It's going up to 300. It's at 3 bars always. And 2.4ghz is turned off. The devices I’m checking on can receive 5ghz. I couldn't see an update on the deco app, I'll try updating it via

 the browser
