Hi all,

 

A few days ago, we've got 1GBit internet. Internet (Fiber with mediabox) directly connected to the TP-Link Archer C80 router. 

On the wifi the connection is slow, around the 200-300 MBit while cabled internet (mediabox) or TP-Link Archer C80, I got a 700-800 MBit connection.

 

So the wifi is slower. Any thing I can do to make it faster-better? 

 

I've tested it with 2 laptops and 2 phones. All give the same result 200-300 MBit. So maybe this is the best I can get. Hopefully I can get a faster connection wireless. 

Disabled:

  • Smart Connect,
  • MU-MIMO
  • Airtime Fairness

 

No changes to the connection speed. 

MU-MIMO is enabled

 

Any thoughts to make my wifi better?

May I know what is the link speed on the phones or laptops? Be sure the link speed is as good as expected, then we can have a good speed when testing. You can try to change the channel width for the 5GHz to 80MHz, change to a clear channel, then reboot the router and reconnect to the network to confirm.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. With link speed, you mean the speed between the devices? 

I can alter the settings of the wifi, so I shall try.

 

I already tried using one SSID for 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz, but I want to be in control of which connection I want to use.
