Model: Deco M5

Firmware Version:

Hi everyone,

I have an industrial IOT project on a plant that i'll have about to 50 clients on a network.

I use an offline network to communicate with my local server, and this local server is conected to the internet. So in my Deco network i dont have internet.

Today i have around to 30 clients and i have some instability sometimes. I'll detail my current network:

Router TP LINK Archer C60

3 Deco M5 as access point. One is wired to the Archer C60, the others not. I have some cheap signal repeater, but my network is still unstable and looks a mess.

This is the current plant layout

I plan to add 3 more decos, the red are the old ones and the blue the new. The green lines are the ethernet cables, the darker is that is already installed

my server is located in the PCP room, in orange.

I'll now show the current topology and two new topology ideas that i have and would like to know if one of them is a good idea.

black lines are ethernet cable, blue wifi.

Thats all, thaks in advance

@GuilhermeJorge

For the two options of the new topology,  I would vote for the 2nd one;

@TP-Link  Thanks for your answer,

The tplink archer c60 can manage more than 50 clients without any instability?

I thought that using a deco as router would be more stable due it's cpu seems to be more powerful, isn't?

@GuilhermeJorge

Option 1 will not work. For it to work, you must place Main Deco (you call it Router on your picture) between Server and Switch.

Main Deco in router mode plays the same role as Archer C60.

@Alexandre.

Hi Alexandre, thanks for your answer.

So, based on this topic

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/98898?page=1

i revised my topology an now i plan to wire as the image below, following the Ethernet Backhaul configuration

Is this the best topology and configuration to ensure speed and stability?

Thanks in advance

@GuilhermeJorge

This is good topology and it should work just fine. It should be stable.

Just one suggestion: depending on your Satellite Decos utilization, or you may wish to consider Deco M9 for Satellites with WiFi backhaul. That would require 4 of them. Unless you ran the numbers already and know M5 will work for you, then having Deco mesh with consistent hardware (all M5s) makes more sense.
