MR6400 - Unable to select band 41
MR6400 - Unable to select band 41
Hi,
I have upgraded beta firmware for band selection. I can select every other available bands from drop-down except band 41. I am using Vodafone sim. In my area band 41 gives better speed. When I try to select band 41 it gives me Error Code 9007 - Invalid value error. Please help.

For MR6400 V4(the same as MR600 v1 or other models in beta firmware), the beta firmware provided the option to manually select the 3G/4G bands which the modem supported theoretically(all the listed bands), but not all the bands could be actually detected by the modem in the real network scenarios, which might be the first possibility.
(For the MR600 V2, it is a little different and all the listed bands could be in use.)
So in your case, it is quite like this one.
Then the second possibility, for the B41, for the EU version of MR6400, the bandwidth is between 2555-2655MHz and it has been reported that some SIM carriers use B41 from 2555-2655MHz to 2496-2690MHz. So we might need your help to check whether the Vodafone SIM is 2555-2655MHZ or 2555-2655 to 2496-2690MHz.

@rakrisi nice to see you again and Could you please check the exact bandwidth for B41 at your state in India?

@TP-Link HELLO TP-Link actual frequency of band 41 is 2500Mhz for proof I have directly contacted with department of telecommunication, and they have sent me a email...
I urge you to provide this info to R&D and make provision for selecting band 41 in TL-MR100 also...thanks

Hi, can you forward the email to me?—I have provided my email address to me via private message.
In my option, I do think B41 has a quite wide range of bandwidth, for example, 2496 to 2690mhz, and our 4G router supports part of it which is 2555-2655mhz.
And based on the user feedback before, different states in India also have a slight difference about the exact bandwidth of “2500mhz”, such as from 2535-2545mhz in Kerala/India.
Thank you very much.

@TP-Link sure I will be sending that...as far as I have tested for different towers, frequency seems to be always 2500mhz, in all nearby towers..anyone can check nearest tower frequency from tarang sanchar website...

@Namann1 Finally I am 100% sure about actual range of band 41 which is 2500-2690 mhz

Hi, thank you very much for the detailed information.
I see the network mode is "4G only" and would changing to "4G preferred" make any difference?
By the way, I did not see your current firmware version on the official websites, and may I know where did you get this firmware?
At the same time, I would like to forward your case to the senior engineers, and please check whether you could get an email from me.
Thank you very much.

@S1687 sorry brother it is a hardware limitation, as mentioned by Renee, senior engineer, it can not be implemented in current products🥲 for future it will come in new products...thanks

Hi, nice to see you again.
I thought I forgot something and here it is.
The bandwidth of band 41 is limited by the hardware and different regions might have their own supported bandwidth of B41. So software upgrade is unable to fix this issue.
A customized model based on the region will be the proper solution. Normally the local office needs a certain number of user feedback to initialize a new product.
In this way, sending feedback directly to the local support team will be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
