I have recently purchased a W8970 and cannot for the life of me force this thing to use ADSL2 modulation.

If I select ADSL2 modulation in DSL Settings, the modem uses ADSL_G.DMT instead of the ADSL2 modulation that I have asked it to use.

Any other modulation works fine, but the modem simply REFUSES to use ADSL2.

This even happens when you have no phone cable plugged into the modem! The modem will NOT use ADSL2 modulation!

I have tried downgrading the firmware and factory reset and reconfigure and same problem.

Are any other W8970 users out there that can confirm this issue?
