Hello all,
I have installed my TL-WR740-N, no problems for 2 computers, they connected magnificently.
Windows Vista machine connects to the Router but does not pass to the internet.
Therefore, "Access: Local Only". IPv6 & IPv4 are configured as "obtain IP auto" and obtain DNS auto.
If i hardwire from the vista machine to the router I have normal 100mbs connection but wireless remains only local.
I searched here for answers but found nothing useful.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
After writing this post, I continued hunting the web for answers.
Apparently, as it turns out it was a problem specific to Vista, especially Vista where Windows update has been unused or switched offf.
There is a problem, it seems with the IPv6 and IPv4 stack recognizing the default gateway.
Anyway, I performed an extremely long winded update session, ensuring that all updates are installed especially those pertaining to wi-fi devices.
In Vista: START/ALL PROGRAMS/WINDOWS UPDATE
CHANGE SETTINGS Select "install updates automatically"
Select: "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates"

Then go for it!
reboot computer
Voila!
