LAN ports not advertising gigabit (AX3000 Archer AX55)

The AX3000 Archer AX55 is sold right on the box as having gigabit LAN ports, but ethtool is only showing 10 and 100 megabit advertised. How do I get 1000baseT/Full? Have I missed an obvious setting in the admin UI or the Tether app?

Make sure you're using the original cable included in the router box or another quality Cat 5E/6 cable.
