Model: RE505X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I recently installed a TPLink RE505X so as to extend and enhance my router's signal strength....  The router is a Homehub 4000 by Sagemcom provided by Bell Canada.  The signal from the Homehub router is ping 3s download 548 mbits and upload 429 mbits.  Once the RE505X is paired the signal is, at 2.4 ghz, ping 4 s, download 89 mbits and  upload 86 mbits.  Paired at 5 ghz, ping is 4s, download at 254 mmbits and upload at 205 mbits....  What am I doing wrong?

@Boltonite

As Range extender receives data from the router and then forward it to the connected clients and speed will decrease during the transmission, sometimes the speed could cut to half. Thus,  we use it more to increase the stability in Wi-Fi dead spots rather than boost Wi-Fi Speed. To check if that is ordinary speed, can you help provide some information below:

1. with RE unplugged, test router Wi-Fi speed at RE's location

check Wi-Fi Link speed on your device when connected to router:

2. RE wired speed if possible

3. RE 5Ghz Wi-Fi speed and Wi-Fi link speed when connected to RE

4. Model of device

For' Homehub router is ping 3s download 548 mbits and upload 429 mbits. ' May I know is this the Wired speed or Wi-Fi speed from router?

Thank you.
