Model: Archer T2U
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

Setup

----------

-h/w is a single board computer based on imx6 processor

-OS is Linux 4.9 (debian buster)

What is done

------------------

I used hostapd to configure T2U device as AP. The config  file is setup for AC mode. AP gets created successfully.

When I run iwconfig command, it shows that Master mode with SSID (as in conf file) is created with a bit rate of about 450mbps

Problem

-----------------

IEEE 802.11 mode shows up as bgn rather than the expected 802.11AC.

Hello @tripac

Archer T2U Wireless spec is (200 Mbps on 2.4GHz band and 433 Mbps on 5GHz band)

If the Wireless Link speed is around 433 Mbps, that is of 5Ghz band, not 2.4Ghz. It sounds a wrong display and should not affect the real speed.

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

I hope that helps.

Thank you. I wanted to enquire about this because client side device joins the master ssid and if I check the iwconfig command, it displays the client connection as 802.11AC Another point is that there is noticeable difference in ping time when in 72.2Mb/s or 433Mb/s
