+1

... and a summary of key features/differences compared to the MR400, MR600, etc, would be great.

Thanks guys but unfortunately this doesn't really help. It would be great if the web pages/compare feature helped highlight some differences, but they don't.

  • The MR500 specs page does not mention Carrier Aggregation, but its Overview page does.
  • In almost all other areas, the specifications for MR500 V1 and MR600 V2 seem identical. (Does this seem likely? Or are the specs listed incorrectly?)

So far, the only definite difference that I can see is the size of SIM card which they each use.

With the model numbering convention (MR600 is superior to MR400 which is in turn superior to MR200) a model number MR500 would suggest that the MR500 would not have as many features as the MR600.

Hence, my questions...

1. Can somebody from TP-Link please summarise the key differences (or all differences) between the MR500 V1 and MR600 V2?

2. In which countries/regions is the MR500 planned to be launched in, and on which dates? (Months would be fine, not precise dates.)

3. Is the MR500 planned to replace the MR600? (Because, from the above, it looks almost identical.)

4. Is the MR600 planned to be discontinued? Or upgraded, with more features added?

Edit: @TP-Link can you help with these questions please?

Meanwhile, I notice that the MR500 UK version is now available for pre-order on Amazon UK for what seems like a brilliant price of only £85 pounds sterling, which compares very well to the £110 I paid for an MR600 V2.

"This item will be released on July 15, 2022."

Hi,

1. Compared to MR600(EU) V2, MR500(EU) V1 has two main changes in the hardware: 1) Changed the SIM card slot to a Nano SIM card slot; 2) Optimized the design of the external LTE antenna, but the external antennas are still detachable.
In software, currently MR500 V1 doesn't support WPA3 while MR600 V2 does.
Note: Same as MR600 V2, MR500 V1 doesn't support IPSec VPN now.

2. For sales information, it is recommended to check with some local online stores, and you could check where to buy part on our official website.

3. No, MR500 will not replace MR600
4. MR600 will be upgraded to MR600 V3. Compared to MR600 V2, MR600 V3 also changed to Nano SIM slot; and in software, MR600 V3 added IPSec VPN on the official firmware.

Hi, MR600 V3 should have been allowed for shpping now, but it might take some time to be available in the market due to different time of shipping to different countries, thus it is recommended to pay attention to some online shops, and you could check online shops on "where to buy" part of our official website.

Thank you very much for your support on our products!
