Slow Internet when in Hotspot

I am having the problem that if I put the SIM into the router I am getting about 40mbit/s over cable and wifi. When I put the SIM into the phone, I am getting 200mbit/s. But I am also only getting 40mbit/s if I connect to my phones hotspot, so the provider seems to slow down "hotspot mode"? Is there a way to set the router up so that the provider doesn't see a router / hotspot but a "phone" instead? Hope you understand what I am saying.
