Model: TL-WPA7517 KIT
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hay guys 😁

Just purchased two of these kits.

Setup went smooth, the WiFi works well for now.

No really high load yet.

I noticed both Wi-Fi units run pretty warm to the touch.

I'm a bit afraid as the instruction sheet insists on mounting position, but even in it they run too warm for comfort.

I switched off the 5gHz range, feels like same temperature.

What is a safe, expected surface temperature for these units? Can i leave them safely ON for months without supervision in the socket?

Edit

After 12h running only 2.4gHz, at medium power, surface temperature is just below 50C°

Moderate WiFi traffic, few devices for both units still runs ok.

The firmware seems identical to the one on the support page.

Any comments?

"Move" did not work but who cares 🤣, did the move manually.

Tanks!

  @KKTCH

Ok, so lets answer myself!

The wpa7517 overheats, and drops frames.

It is not the unit's fault as both i have work the same way.

I should try to claim my money as it works poorly.
