Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a home network consisting of

  • Cable DSL Model / router
  • TPlink Deco (M4's / M5s) configured using ethernet backhaul
  • 6 rooms connected via Cat 6  terminating on unmanaged Gigabait Switches (also tplink)

Recently I added a new room to the network running Cat6 cable to the garden and adding another unmanaged Gigabit switch and an M5

Problem:

I am now seeing some devices (phones/laptops) unable to get a DHCP lease from the Deco network. Configuring a static IP works.

All devices have 1.6 Firmware

Questions:

  • Is this a known issue?  Any quick fixes?
  • If I don't use any advanced features should I move the deco to AP mode and use my Cable Modem's DHCP?

Any other tips or guidance?

  @dc2448

Thanks for the feedback.

It is suggested you could install the beta firmware on this link:

https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/577556?replyId=1122864

Please let me know whether it is working or not.

(It only needs to be installed on the main Deco M5, no need on Deco M4)

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.
