Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 201102 Rel.50506n (6985/8575)

Hello everyone,

I am in place where there are multiple WiFi access points with the same SSID.

I want to connect to a specific one, based on its Mac address. The problem is that when I select the one I want from the admin panel, my extender will automatically connect to the network with the same SSID that has the strongest signal.

Do you know if there is a way to connect to the specific router I need?

Thanks a lot in advance

  Hello @angelo_ml

I'm afraid there's no option to force RE to a particular AP.

Please ensure that a particular AP Wi-Fi signal is strong enough for the range extender, or move them closer to each other.

If the current AP signal strength is not good enough to sustain current connection, range extender may lose internet and connect to the AP stronger wifi signal.

You may check if your mesh system has an option to  adjust the coverage/ transmit power of the AP and lower the coverage of the stronger AP for a test.
