DHCP still not disabled after Smart DHCP disable in firmware 1.6
The DHCP saga continues. Even after upgrading to firmware 1.6 and disabling Smart DHCP, I still get DHCP replies from my Deco M5. It takes control and assigns IP 10.0.1.100 to my laptop. Something has changed after disabling Smart DHCP, before the laptop got 10.0.1.70 and it varied, sometimes 62, etc. Now it always gets 10.0.1.100. It totally destroys my network. I have restarted several times, but somehow the M5 is just stubborn and really does not want to let go of its DHCP capabilities. I have to use my M5 as an access point. As many in here I feel disappointed and I paid quite a bit of money for this hardware.

@David-TP Argh, my mistake!!!
The arp -a command got me thinking, and I hunted down an old switch on my network that was pushing out the 10.0.1.x adresses. I had completely forgotten it existed and did not think it was even powered on.
Thanks a lot for excellent and very quick help, very much appreciated. And sorry for the confusion caused.

Welcome to the community.
Thanks for the feedback and it is not what we expected and could you please help me check the following information:
1. How did you find out M5 still gave out IP address? because it is the gateway of the IP settings on the laptop?
2. Could you please send me a picture of your network layout?
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hello!
Thanks for the quick answer.
1. I power off the D5, and then my laptop (and all other devices) get correct IP if I either connect it directly to my modem via cable or wifi provided by modem. I need the mesh to extend my wifi, as the wifi modem does not reach all of the house. As soon as I power on the D5, my laptop gets the 10.0.1.100 address. I can click on "Renew DHCP connection", and if I do that a number of times, it eventually comes back with a 192.168.0.X value provided by my modems DHCP server. It gives values from 192.168.0.30 to 192.168.0.200.
2. See attachment. I have more wifi devices, they all try to connect to the M5's. Those work as they have been given a static IP in the 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.29 range. I am not 100% about the M5's IP address, i put it to 192.168.0.10 in the drawing, but I think it is rather in the DHCP range and gets its IP from my modem.

Thanks for the update.
I would like to follow up on your case via email and please check whether you could get an email from me later.
At the same time, could you please help me do a test when the PC started getting 10.0.1.xxx IP again:
Please refer to the following instruction to check the MAC Address of the device that assigned the IP for PC:
- type arp -a on the CMD to see the ARP(MAC-IP) table
- check whether any of MAC is the same as Deco.(Normally it should be one who used IP 10.0.1.1)
