Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: V1_1.1.1 Build 20220621 - latest build

I bought the AX55 this week (November 2022).

I set it up and everything works on my network except for my HomPod keeps disconnecting from it.

1. I reset the HomePod.

2. I tried older versions of Tp-Link Ax55 Firmware.

It just keeps loosing connection after 2 hours and I have to restart everything for it to connect again.

I switched back to my Archer A9V6 and everything worked. I also switched to my Archer A6V3 and everything worked.

What is the problem with the Archer AX55?

How can it be resolved?

Thanks in advanced.

@JIFourie

Are there any differences that you can observe for the wireless network settings on all these three routers? Such as Channel, channel width, and security type.

If you believe there is something to do with the Smart Connect on the AX55, you may try to disable it, and create different SSIDs for the 2.4G and 5G networks on the AX55, then monitor again if the HomePod can connect to it stably.

  @Liverpool20

I have checked every setting between the routers and everything is exactly the same ***Except the CHANNELS, the channels on the AX55 in 5ghz goes to 144DFS, on the other two routers it goes up to 165.

***I have disabled smart connect:

1. I have to disable smart connect.

2. Disable 5Ghz.

3. Enable 5GHz.

Then everything works *BUT I have to plug in my Apple TV via Ethernet Port otherwise the HomePod disconnects again.

@JIFourie

If that is the case, you can try to change the 5G channel on the AX55 to 165 as well, then monitor the connectivity on the HomePod.

BTW, is the AX55 a US version or an EN version? How about the old A9 and A6?

  @Liverpool20

The A9 & A6 are both US spec and the AX55 is EU spec, so I do not have all the channels on the AX55 and thus I can not select them.

I guess I will have to buy a new US version to fix the problem.

@JIFourie

I see. You are right, you cannot choose channel 165 on an EU hardware. You can try to contact the shop to see if they are also selling the US versions.
