Poor download speeds in AP mode
Poor download speeds in AP mode
When in normal router mode I am able to hit 1Gbps in the same room over WiFi6e.
However in AP mode I am only able to reach 250mbps download and 1Gbps upload.
I saw in another thread someone reported the opposite problem with the upload being slow but my problem is with the download.
Are these issues related?
I'm on the latest firmware but is there anything newer to fix this?
I am using a QNAP QSW-308-1C between my nodes but both are having the same speed limits.
Thanks

Just wanted to post a followup.
Theres been no response from support.
I have since reverted back to using Router Mode only as performance is as expected in this setup.
But for anyone looking to use the AP Mode you should look elsewhere.

To note the issue only occurs when both Decos are powered on.
If 1 of the Decos is off the other runs full speed. I tried this multiple times and it didnt matter which was off the other would be normal speed again.

Thanks for the feedback.
Is the network topology like this:
ISP main router---QNAP switch---XE75 #1
\---XE75 #2
(If yes, have you tried the network layout like this: ISP main router---QNAP switch---XE75 #1---<cable>---XE75 #2, would the speed drop to 250 again this time?)
May I know the model number of your main ISP router?
Is there only one device connected to Deco when you are running the speed test? And are you able to reproduce this issue most of the time?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

It is reproducable 100% of the time. Due to the location of the 2nd deco I can't directly connect them with a single cable. It goes router > switch and then to deco 1. That 1st switch is then connected to another identical 2nd qnap switch and then deco 2.
The router is a 10GB router provided by Google Fiber and it's model is GFRG300.

Thanks for the feedback.
In this way, Could you please check the signal source on Deco XE75 #2, like this:
I think it might be on wireless Backhaul, not Ethernet Backhaul even though it is connected by a cable.
If it is, it might explain why the satellite XE75 had a huge drop in the internet speed and you could have a look at this link
General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco (Q5+Q6)
Thank you very much.

The signal source is ethernet.
Here is a speedtest result as well.

Here is a test from the 2nd deco.

Before when it was in router mode both would have similar results to the above.
Here is a result with the other deco when I don't use wired backhaul.

As you can see it's faster than Ethernet on the download and only the upload suffers.
Here is my speed test results wired:
