Model: Archer VR2100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I currently use a BT Smart Hub2 on the Superfast Broadband line, and it works perfectly, I used the VR2100 for about 2 months before it started giving me errors, I could not game etc. prior to this it was flawless.

The VR2100 connects to the line perfectly, but if you ping the router its fine apart from the occasional 1000+ms ping. You do not get this with the smarthub2.

I have factory reset the VR2100 a few times but nothing clears this up.

It is connected wirelessly to the T9UH V2

I've been using a VR900 for years prior to this with no issues of lag.

TP Link RMA'd the original router, and sent a brand new VR2100 , the same issues are happening.

As I said, the connection and the router were working fine for about 2 months , then one morning it was fine, then next minute it was bad.

Connection never drops, just massive latency from Router to PC now and again.

Any ideas ?

  @LeVzi

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Except for the PC with T9UH V2, have you tested on any other mobile devices to see whether they had a massive latency as well?

If it is Archer T9UH only, I believe you are connected to the 5ghz, right?

And there are some suggestions for your reference:

1. change the wireless channel to channel 44.

2. update the following driver:https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/509006

best regards.

  @LeVzi

Thanks for the reply.

The T9UH V2 works perfectly with the BT Smart Hub2 , with no latency and no issues at all.

So it's working fine.

I have returned the VR2100 , both of them, the 2nd one actually died completely.

I suspect the VR2100 is just not compatible with BT VDSL.

I will be using a different brand for the Router when I can find a decent one.
