Model: Deco X68
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Latest

I just got a TV box that does not work well with wifi6 connection. It keeps getting disconnected and I'd be having hard time reconnecting it back (multiple rebooting of the box).

Since returning the TV box is not an option, is there any way to make it connect to a Non-Wifi6 connection? Is there such option in X68?

  @phy_lis

Hi. Wi-Fi 6 is backward compatible with Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4. I don't think the disconnection of the TV box is due to incompatibility with Wi-Fi 6.

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. enable guest network for 2.4 GHz only and the wireless security is set to WPA2, not WPA3 mixed.

2. turn off "'Beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

3. disable "Mesh technology" on the Deco APP for the TV box.

By the way, May I know your current firmware version on the Deco X68 V2?

Best regards.

  @David-TP - Thanks for the suggestion.

Previously, I have Mesh Technology disabled for my TV Box.

I noticed there is an option to create a separate SSID for IoT devices (2.4GHz only). I tried that and the connection seems to be stable so far. No more intermittent disconnection from my WiFi network.

I've also changed the security to WPA/WPA2 after that.
