Model: Deco E4
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.4 Build 20211101 Rel. 75384

Hi!

I don't know the hardware version in my deco.

My problem is:

I added a deco in an area where the devices were far from the other decos.

However, the devices do not connect to the new deco. How do I force this connection?

Thanks

Hi, so far, the firmware of Deco E4 does not support choosing the connection preference of mobile clients.

Have you tried to move the client next to the new E4 and restart the client once?

By the way, May I know the model number of these devices?

Best regards.

Thanks for answering. My first question is if there is a way to update the firmware for my current deco. If not, I'm beginning to understand that I bought an extension for an old computer (likewise, I understand that since I only have 100mb of internet, because fiber doesn't pass through the house at the moment, I won't have more of that for a long time).
Regarding the devices, there are a variety of them, some of which are difficult to bring to the new deco, for example, one of them is the general electricity key (that is, if I turn it off, everything goes off), the another device is a doorbell (nest doorbell wired).
Still, after a while, I see that some devices connect to the new deco. What is the explanation of these "unexpected" movements? Maybe, end up all settling in alone?
Well, I have many queries, but what you can clarify for me to better understand how it works.

Hi, 1.5.4 is the latest firmware for Deco E4 now so there is no newer firmware available for further upgrade. The feature to manually choose the connection preference(preferred bands and Deco units) is planned to be added via future firmware upgrades and has been added on some models already.

It might be due to the devices are not supported fast roaming and they would tend to stick to the first wireless signal they ever spotted. Normally when Deco sent out the roaming request to clients and if they answered, they will follow Deco's suggestion to roam to the nearby and empty Mesh unit. For more details, you could refer to this link:

Why my clients don't roam/connect to the nearest Deco node?

Thank you very much and best regards.
