According to reports, NBN is expected to introduce two new functions, SOS (Save Our Showtime) and ROC (Robust Overhead Channel), to VDSL2 lines (FTTN and FTTB) by the end of March 2022. TP-Link users, who are part of the NBN network, are eager to know if our DSL products support SOS and ROC. In response to this, we aim to provide thorough details regarding the compatibility of SOS and ROC with our TP-Link DSL products.

How to enable SOS/ROC on the TP-Link DSL modem router?
For Deco X73/ X50/ X20-DSL, please Go to Deco APP>>Advanced>>DSL Settings>>SOS/ROC.
For TP-Link DSL modem router,
- Log into the web interface per How to log into the web-based interface of the DSL Modem Router.
- Go to Advanced > Network > DSL Settings > enable SOS and ROC
What can I do if the model does not support SOS-ROC yet?
NBN does not mandate that DSL modem routers must support SOS and ROC. For DSL modem routers not supporting these new functions, another function, Seamless Rate Adaptation (SRA) will be required to ensure connectivity under certain noisy conditions. Most TP-Link DSL modem routers support SRA. After SRA is turned on, even if NBN deploys SOS and ROC, the DSL modem router can maintain a stable connection.
- How to enable SRA on the TP-Link DSL modem router?
- Log into the web interface per How to log into the web-based interface of the DSL Modem Router.
- Go to Advanced > Network > DSL Settings > enable SRA.
