Model: TD-W9970
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 170726

Hi, is the TD-W9970 (V1) compatible with the VDSL2 SOS (Save Our Showtime) and ROC (Robust Overhead Channel) features that are being mandated on the Australian NBN (National Broadband Network) by the end of January 2022? If not, will a firmware upgrade be released soon to provide this support? Can you also please answer the same questions re: the other TD-W9970 versions i.e. V2, V3 and V4? Thanks.

@redhead65 I got this response from TP Link " All of our vdsl modem is not compatible with SOS and ROS ,but it does support SRA. "
And i found this on an article about the NBN changes
"

If a VDSL modem does not support SOS and ROC another function, Seamless Rate Adaptation (SRA), will be required to ensure connectivity under certain noisy conditions.

If a VDSL modem doesn’t have these specific functions/software, an nbn FTTN/B service may no longer work beyond 31 March 2022.
"
So it should work still but i'm assuming it would work better if it had SOS and ROC
I Also asked if a firmware was needed for SRA and TP link responded

" No need , this is build it to any of our VDSL modem . "
