Model: TL-WPA7517 KIT
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.10 Build 220701 Rel.65093n

Hello everyone.

In June I bought a powerline kit on amazon the tl-wpa1000 kit. I had problems since the first day to be honest, because the "sender" (the one connected to the router) would get very hot within minutes and the network was very unstable so I reverted to the sender i was using before (tl-wpa7510kit) and everything worked well till a week ago when the "receiver" (tl-wpa7517) started making noise, like a buzzing, non always and not very loud, now it has become persistant and louder. What can i do? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Maybe you could directly message the official account for an exchange.

@Alexf96 These devices become squeaky as the capacitors in their internal power circuit gradually dry up. What you hear is the sound of desperation, the power regulation circuit giving its everything to compensate for the ever increasing lack of capacity.

Also, cheap designs tend to be non-silent right out of the box.

Also also, not-quite-so-cheap designs barely manage to be silent when new, but develop audible noise soon after.

Finally, other ways to be cheap, like poor thermal management, accelerate capacitor aging.

What to do? Return for exchange, or if you still can, return for refund and buy a higher quality device.
