Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 Build 20230824 Rel. 63641

I bought a Deco X20 v3 about a month ago from USA. It is on firmware version: 1.1.4 Build 20230824 Rel. 63641

Upon using this device in Pakistan I noticed that the 5GHZ band is not findable.

I searched a lot and found the root cause of this is that the Deco x20 5GHZ band channels are selected automatically. At the moment it is on channel 36 and most of my devices like mobile phones, tablets are unable to find this because I noticed in Pakistan wifi band 4 is mostly supported.  U-NII-4 Channels like channels 157 etc..

I searched on tp link forums and found like for example: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/179556

The only solution would be to be able to manually set wifi channel otherwise the device will be a total waste for me. Kindly ask technical team to support for this issue resolution.

  @aamirift

Hi, did it help re-select the wireless channel after performing "network optimization on the Deco APP>More?

May I know the model number of your mobile phones and tablets? Are they Samsung devices?

Most of the 5Ghz devices should support band 1, and I am afraid if Deco switched to band 4, the other part of the 5GHz devices working on band 1 would fail to detect the 5Ghz Wi-Fi.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP  There are also Band 2 and Band 3. So TP link should switch to Band 2 or Band 3 also.

If only switch to Band 1 then the device is not usable in some countries.
