TD-VG3631 cant see NTFS drive in USB port
Region : Australia
Model : TD-VG3631
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 0.6.0 1.0 v0001.0 Build 130413 Rel.52459n
ISP : Exetel
I recently purchased the TD-VG6361 and was able to set it up for everything just fine, including voip for PennyTel & Mynetfone, in a matter of minutes. All working great :)
Now trying to setup the USB for both FTP and Media Player. If I plug in a 16gb USB Key (FAT32 formatted) into either USB port, all works fine, my Media Player sees it and able to play movie files. I can FTP to it from externally and locally. All good so far. I plug in a 500GB USB Hard Drive and no go. On the USB Mass Storage page it shows up a TOSHIBA HD but unable to see size of HD, etc. The HD is of course formatted NTFS, I cant format it FAT32. I decided to format my 16GB USB key to NTFS. Done and copied a couple of files to it. Plugged it in and now cant FTP to it and my Media player cant see it, again the USB Mass Storage page it shows up a MEMOREX usb device but unable to see its size, etc. I then formatted the USB key back to its original FAT32, copied the same files to it and bingo, all is seen and working again. FAT32 only works with 32GB drives or smaller and thats way to small for my needs.
What needs to be done to get the unit to see NTFS formatted drives as it clearly says the unit is compatible with both FAT32 & NTFS ? I have the latest firmware.
Thanks for listening,
cm
