Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

When I set to 2.4 ghz only, nothing will connect. I get "authentication failed" and "Check password".

The login works OK when set to 2.4 and 5.0, but I need to set to 2.4 to reconnect one of my smart devices.

This all worked well whenever 2.4 used previously. The system is now 4 months old.

  @Folkranger

I wonder if there is another WiFi network with the same SSID, but different password. For example, the one from your modem/router you haven't turned off. If there is, device may try to connect to it and that will fail.

On X50 you should have an option to enable IoT Network, and that is recommended place for devices that need 2.4GHz. Enable IoT network with its SSID/password, make that SSID different from Main Network. Verify that IoT Network broadcasts on 2.4GHz only (it should by default but check anyway) and try connecting smart device to it.
