Hello

We have a TL-WR840N which we are using, for a PPOE network connection. This configuration has worked and a WLAN and WLAN Guest can also be set up.
A TL-WA850RE extender is used for network expansion. This extender takes the WLAN from the router, but generates a WLAN with a separate SSID.

The Internet connection on an iPhone and Microsoft laptop behind the extender and behind the WLAN Guest works perfectly.

We have the following problem...

The Wi-Fi connection directly to the router works on the iPhone, but not on a Microsoft laptop or Android Mobile. The message "The DHCP client has received an IP address that is already in use" appears.

DHCP is activated on the router and configured correctly (range 192.168.0.100-199, DNS 8.8.8.8). So that there are no duplications with the extender, I have manually defined the DHCP of the extender in a different range (range 192.168.0.200-250, DNS 8.8.8.8). Everything works fine.

What could be the cause here so that the problem with the assignment of the DHCP client can be resolved?

Best

PasBoh

  @PasBoh

Have you tried to disable the TL-WA850RE DHCP server so the only DHCP server in your network be the TL-WR840N's.

Reboot the TL-WR840N, after that reboot TL-WA850RE and test if there's an improvement.

  @terziyski

Thank you for your feedback...

I have just managed to deactivate DHCP on the extender. The first laptop (Lenovo) now works on the router WLAN, but the second (Surface) does not yet.

The strange thing is that it works on the WLAN Guest.
