XE75 and Virgin Media - best practise Hub in modem mode or Deco in AP mode?

Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.9

I recently got the XE75 pro and it appears to be working fine to my Virgin Media v5 Hub.

I've turned Wifi off on the hub and the XE75 is in AP mode.

I'm wondering if it's better to flip the VM Hub into modem mode and run the XE75 for DHCP etc etc

The network has some static addresses using 192.168.0.xx up to 30 so I'd need the XE75 to be able to use the same network, and then I have one port forwarding rule and one port triggering rule on the Hub.

Thanks!

Greg

  @kitenski

If you ever need to contact your ISP about Internet link issues, you'll be glad to have Virgin Media v5 Hub in its default gateway mode. Put Hub in modem mode, use main Deco as a router - and your escalations to ISP Support could get dismissed with "third party router hardware - not our issue."

Also, in Deco Access Point mode you could use all Hub Ethernet ports.

If you have extensive wired network at your home, you don't need to pass its traffic through Main Deco - you can connect your main networking switch directly to Hub, for better performance.
