Have recently added an r550 to my home network. An r450 was already connected and did work perfectly, however since adding the r550 it drops off the network regularly, at least once a day. If I unplug and replug in the r450, it is found again, but then gets lost a few hrs later.

Did you use the same SSID on RE550 and RE450? How are these two extenders connected, such as:
Host router---<Wi-Fi>--RE450---<Wi-Fi>--RE550
Or RE550---<Wi-Fi>-- Host router---<Wi-Fi>--RE450
How about the host router? Did it also from TP-Link?
