Model: Archer TX20UH
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I tried to connect the TX20UH today, to use with the new Fibre BB I have.

I can install the drivers and connect it, it finds all available wifi's and when I connect to mine it will connect, then the USB starts to disconnect

Windows makes the USB disconnected sound and the light goes off the unit ,then it reconnects and rinse and repeat.

This goes on and on. THe USB socket is fine, the T9UH is in there now working fine.

I think this is a bad driver , but the support cannot help me.

Anyone else managed to get this to work ?

  @woozle No it's not the socket , it turns out it's the drivers.

I had to uninstall hidden devices, which was the T9UH that I had previously, the drivers were clashing with each other.

When I remove them both and then just install the drivers for the TX20UH  it works fine.

TP LINK Need to do 2 things,

1) Update their drivers for this unit, its clearly not working properly

2) provide an uninstall tool for all previous TP Link driver installations.

Support were useless and they were once before with routers, I am losing all faith with TP Link now, going to have to think about going to a different company.

  @LeVzi

Hi,

If your computer has USB 2.0 sockets, then plug the TX20UH into one of those. It should work fine in a USB 2.0 socket, but your download speeds will be limited less than 300 Mbps.

If this is a desktop computer with many USB 3.x sockets and using an AMD Ryzen CPU, then test all of them. On Ryzen systems some USB ports are usually wired to the CPU and some to the chipset and one or the other may give different results.
