Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 191226 Rel.27

Hello Community - I have a number of different devices I use to try and get wifi to all corners of my home.

I use three TP Link Range Extenders (2 are plugged in to Ethernet and used as Access Points and 1 is used as a Range Extender and not plugged into Ethernet).

I also use 3 x Telstra wifi Bootsers and again 2 are plugged into Ethernet and 1 is not and just grabs wifi and extends it's range.

I have noticed that the 3 x Telstra Boosters are hooking up to one of the (ehternet connected) TP Link Range Extenders.

Not being technical and not being able to logically disect this can anyone tell me if it is OK for these Telstra boosters to connect to the TP Link device or should they make their own connections directly to the Modem? Seeing as two of them are ethernet connected I would have thought those two would not connect to TP Link because they are literally hard wired to the modem via ethernet cables.

Any thoughts or suggestios appreciated.

Hi, How did you find out that Telstra Boosters are connected to TL-WA850RES? Can you share any pictures here?

Did you use the same SSID for All devices, ISP modem's WiFi, TP Range Extenders' and Telstra Boosters'?

Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP  Hi  David - I have attached a screen shot from the Tether App showing two of the Telstra Boosters under the list of connected devices to my Range Extender. You will also notice a TL-WA850RE device connected to this device. Is it unusual to have a TP Link Range Extender connecting to another TP Link Range Extender?

SSID for all devices is (are) the same.

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

For the Ethernet-connected Boosters/range extenders, I think they shouldn't be on the client list of TL-WA850RE considering they are actually connected to the ISP host router.

Did you use the same SSID on all booters/extenders?

If it is, for the wirelessly connected TL-WA850RE in range extender mode, it might roam from the host router to the nearby 850RE.

Best regards.

  @David-TP Thanks David.

Yes all devices are using same SSID.

I agree that the 2 x hard wired boosters should not be using the TP-Link RE and that the 1 x wireless booster may have wandered onto the TP Client list.

So how do I stop the two boosters that are Ethernet connected from connecting to the TP RE?

I tried to block them on the app but I get an error message saying that I have too many blocekd clients and that I;ll need to reomve some in order to add others. Only thing is I haven't blocked any clients - my blocked list is empty.
