Model: TL-WA855RE
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:
MY WIFI SEEMS TO BE FINE GETTING 200mbps AND I HAVE TALKED MANY TIMES WITH THE LOCAL SERVICES SO THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM THERE. ALTHOUGH, ON THE UPPER FLOOR, WHERE THE EXTENDER HAS PLACE, I GOT 80MBPS WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE BUT THE LAST 3-4 DAYS WHEN I WANT TO PLAY A GAME ON THE PC, WIFI IS DOING PLENTY OF LAG SPIKES AND GENERALLY IS LAGGING SO MUCH LATELY. I DONT KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING AND IM USING A TP-LINK EXTENDER A LONG TIME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I HOPE YOU WILL HELP ME FIX IT.

  @plevr

Hi, welcome to the community.

I see the model number you are selecting here is TL-WA855RE which supports 2.4GHz only.

Its advertised wireless link speed is up to 300m/s. Due to the half-duplex wireless working mechanism, it is not bad to have 80m/s.

I think your host router might support both 5GHz and 2.4GHz. 200m/s should be the wireless speed from 5GHz.

Usually Ethernet connection would be the top choice for online gaming, then 5GHz if an Ethernet cable is an available choice.

2.4GHz Wi-Fi is quite crowded most of the time since Bluetooth, Zigbee as well as other 2.4GHz all share the same spectrum which has brought a lot of interference.

Thank you very much and best regards.
