Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hey there,

I currently have the following devices:

3 X60 with V2 hardware. One of those is my main

1 X50 Outdoor with V1 hardware

Let's say I add one more X60 as the new main deco but with the V3 hardware version.

I have two questions:

  1. Which features would I get? (targeting which firmware version?) e.g. will iot support be added to the app (it is not supported with X60 V2 hardware but it supported with the V3)?
  2. Since there is a an actual AX difference (V3 is AX 5400), how would that effect the mesh?

Thank you!

Hi,

For Deco X60_V3_1.2.5, it is on the 1.8.0 firmware platform here:

Understand the Differences Among Deco Firmware Platforms

So you will have the VPN server/client, IOT Network.

And the new Mesh system will start using the HomeShield Security kit.

Deco X60_V3 is still AX3000 and V3.2 is AX5400. It would not affect the software features. Mobile devices that also support Wi-Fi 6 might have a higher wireless link speed from AX5400.

Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP Thank you! I understand, so the main deco is the one that decides which features I get, and the rest of them are following orders.

Hi, yes.

For features that only require the NAT gateway/DHCP server, the main Deco will decide which features you could get.

However, some features need the cooperation of the whole Mesh system, such as the connection preference for satellite Deco units/mobile clients.

Best regards.
