Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 20231229 Rel 43148

Hi!

I have an gigabit ONT router ZTE F670L V9.0, with 100 maps Internet connection.

it gives me 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi.

With Samsung A53 5G, I can connect both wifis separately.  Off course 2.4ghz gives me less speed and 5ghz gives me full 100mbps.

I  have Deco X50, ver 1.20(EU), firmware 20231229 Rel 43148, bought from KSA and using in Pakistan.

Now my X50 connects my Samsung only on 2.4ghz and doesn't give speed more than 40mbps

Pl help

@BilalAlvi Either turn off wifi in your ZTE router or use the Deco X50 in access point mode

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

  @ImtiazAli

Thank you for your reply.

I'm using access point mode.

And yes I did try switching off my WiFi on ZTE but didn't do the job.

Actually my phone is not wifi6, so Deco connects it on 2.4ghz.

All phones with wifi6 are also connected on 2.4ghz but give full 100mbps speed.

  @BilalAlvi

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Is your Deco X50 EU version?

I have seen feedback that Samsung mobile phones could only connect to a 5GHz Wi-Fi band with a channel between 149~165(or band 4 we often called).

For the EU version of Deco X50, the 5GHz mainly works on band 1( channels 36-48), or sometimes band 2/3 on 160 MHz.

I noticed you mentioned that the Deco X50 was bought from KSA and used in Pakistan, which might be related to why you had the general EU version and Samsung A53 5G couldn't detect 5GHz of Deco X50 so it dropped to 2.4GHz.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi!

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it is EU version.

And yes issue is with the channels.

So what can be done to sort it out.

As same Samsung A53 5G, connects to ZTE router on 5ghz with full 100mbps speed.

regards,

  @BilalAlvi

Hi, the EU version of Deco doesn't support band 4 which is limited by the embedded region code in the hardware. It would be better to purchase the Deco from the local market.

If you can no longer return Deco X50, since the Samsung A53 5G is the only device that has to use band 4 on 5GHz Wi-Fi, it would be better to connect it separately to the ZTE router, then connect Deco X50 behind the ZTE router and set the Deco into the Access point to provide a Mesh network for other mobile devices.

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Thank you very much and Best regards.

  @David-TP

Thank you.

Can I change the band on X50?

I assume, I cannot.

Is there any upgrade coming for this issue?

  @BilalAlvi

Hi, you are right and Deco doesn't support changing wireless channels.

The regular firmware upgrade will not make the EU version Deco support Band 4.

Best regards.
