Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I am looking for for an 2nd access point where I have a Ethernet cable available to connect from my main router Archer AX73, I would like the best product to provide me with multiple ports (4/5 ports will do) and to be able to pass on the V6 Wifi signal from the Archer AX 73. I dont need a mess for a 2 bedroom flat and currently I have a 2 products (TP-link 300Mbps  N Access Point (model:TL-WA801N) and TP-Link 5-Port 10/100Mbpds desktop switch (model:TL-SF1005D). Do you have any suggestion as to what a good product would fit that description?

Last note, i would like wifi capability and I do currently have Wi-Fi blind spots in the lounge (where the above products are situated), which is crazy as the lounge is no larger then 20 Square meters.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Jonathan

If you can connect AX73 directly to the AX55 then you don't need both TL-SF1005D and TL-WA801N.

Thus, you'll have 4 LAN ports available on AX55 for any wired devices.

You can even setup Easymesh with an ethernet backhaul with those two router models.

If you want to extend your wireless coverage with an AX series (Wi-Fi 6) router in AP mode use this guide (Case 1).

Good candidates are devices like AX20, AX53, or AX55.

Keep in mind that these are gigabit routers and if you use your existing TL-SF1005D the connection will be capped at 100 mbps.

Thank you for the suggestion.

If I get another router (e.g. AX55) as an access point, am I able to get rid of the TL-SF1005D and use the ports on the new router/access point for devices?

My aim is to have one device and remove the 2 devices I have currently.

If I can not remove the both devices can you suggest an alternative to the TL-SF1005D which allows faster speeds.

Lastly the network cable between the router and access point would beno more then 4/5 meters.

Kind Regards,

Jonathan
