I bought a DECO X50 2pack recently and actually, I like it. To set it up I disabled the WIFI on my modem. However, I have one big problem. The DECO wired IP address points are not in the range of my modem. I was a bit surprised because this is probably a major problem for a lot of users.

I have a Synology NAS running on a reserved IP address I have a VU+ satellite receiver running on a reserved IP address on my network and would like to see my laptops communicating on a Windows Home system. All this is now a problem.

I cannot change to a "Modem only" mode on my Virgin Media  HUB2 because I have loads of forwarding set up and reserved IP addresses which I would lose.

With the Access Point mode can I use the DECO wired points with the modem DHCP range?

Yes, you should configure Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode. That will delegate IP addresses management to the router you have.

Everything connected to Deco units and Deco units itself will be getting IP addresses from the Virgin HUB router.

Do I lose the MESH qualities like seamless changing to the more powerful WIFI Deco unit?

With Deco in AP mode, you will not lose any WiFi mesh features.
