Firmware Version:

Hi, I have a network set up with the X55 working properly. Main deco connected to the FTTH router (5e cable) and satellite deco to the main deco via ethernet backhaul. The satellite deco supports more equipment than the main one connected by cable (3 PCs, NAS and 2 printers through a switch + WIFI). The question is: would it be convenient to change the satellite deco that supports the largest number of devices to main and the main to satellite?  Thank you

Hi, Do you want to change from topology 1 to topology 2, such as:

May I know the model number of your network switch here?

Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP Greetings and thank you for your reply. The idea is not to change the network topology for infrastructure reasons. It's just like getting the most out of the number of devices connected to the Deco satellite. Would it be convenient to exchange the Deco,s to get the maximum performance? Comment that the system is working properly. Thank youactual topology

Hi, Thank you very much for the further details.

In common practice, we usually take the first Deco that connects to the FTTH router as the main Deco, especially in Wireless Router mode.

If you want the Deco that has the largest number of devices to work as the main Deco, we might need to make a slight change to the current layout.

  • First, Deco X55 needs to be set into Access Point mode.
  • Then re-arrange the wire a little bit.
