Model: Archer AX53
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: ax53v1-up-us-ver1-2-4-P1[20240206-rel41393]

I have 3 ax53 routers, I connected 2 ax53 satellite routers to 1 ax53 main router with ethernet backhaul but I cannot get the performance I want, 2.4 ghz is very unstable I can get a maximum speed of 30mbit sometimes it can be 2-4mbit, I do not have a problem with 5ghz and cable connection, I can get 980mbit with ethernet and 500-600 mbit with 5ghz, tapo camera devices do not work stable on 2.4 ghz, I tried adjusting the channel etc. but I did not get any results, there is no problem on 2.4 ghz in AP mode, I can get 90-130mbit with the same internet, how can we solve this problem?

Hi,

When you use the EasyMesh functionality to create a mesh network with 3 routers, those 3 routers will automatically share the same 2.4GHz channel.

It may cause congestion and crowding on the 2.4GHz.

You mentioned if they work in AP mode it would be better. Did you set all three units into AP mode?

For your case, it is recommended to use AP mode, so that you can manually set different 2.4G channel, like 1, 6 and 11.

This will distribute the 2.4GHz devices across different channels, reduce the interference and congestion between the channels, and help improve the performance.

We want a single wifi network, not AP mode, but will it still be slow if we create a separate wifi network for the guest network and cameras? Why is there a mesh system if I have to use AP mode?

Hi,

If the Mesh network is needed, please also check whether changing the channel width can help.

Please change the channel width to 20MHz and then restart all your AX53 devices.

If the unstable or slow speed issue still exists after you change the channel width, please reply to the post and provide the following information. We would like to escalate your case to our senior engineers for further analysis and help.

1. When did you purchase the AX53 routers?

2. Where do you use the AX53 routers? Is it in a home environment, or in the factory, or somewhere else?

3. Please provide us your network topology. It would be nice that you can draw a picture of it.
