Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Latest (updated on October 2023)

Hello TP-Link community,

I recently upgraded to the TP-Link Archer AX73, and while the Wi-Fi 6 performance is fantastic most of the time, I've been facing intermittent connection drops during heavy usage (e.g., streaming 4K videos or online gaming). The router is running the latest firmware, and I have tried rebooting, changing channels, and adjusting QoS settings, but the issue persists.

Here are the details of my setup:

  • ISP Speed: 500 Mbps Fiber
  • Connected Devices: 12 (laptops, smartphones, smart home devices)
  • Environment: Medium-sized home, router placed centrally
  • Issue Occurrence: Mostly during peak usage hours

I would appreciate any suggestions or tips on how to resolve this issue, whether through further configuration changes or any specific settings for the AX73. Is it possible that the connection drops could be due to interference, or should I look into mesh networking as a potential solution?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

According to the official website, the latest firmware was released in this April. Could you please check whether you are using this one?

If not, it is suggested to upgrade firmware manually following this guide.

i have the same problem!

running it on latest firmware make it worst..

now i run Beta 1.3.5 i found on this forum..

everytime it reaches top speed the router kinda reboot itself..

My theory is the threshold is passed and the router disconnects itself and reboot..

maybe the subscription service make all this problem..

the status is : POOR CONNECTION.

This is my last week waiting for solution before purchasing other brand router..

been a loyal customer for 11 years..

please give us the reliable TPLINK product back..

Hi, as I know, the latest firmware is 1.3.6. Did you install it before?

Does the router has auto-reboot problem when the router was installed latest firmware version?

If your product is Archer AX73(US) V1, it is suggested to upgrade firmware to the latest referring to this official website.

Then please share the detailed problematic phenomena about the router here and we will provide further suggestions.

It is also suggested to contact local technical support for direct help.
