Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20221229 Rel. 43148

Hello,

(Please note that this is for hardware version 1.26, which was not an option in the drop down menu).

I have the X55 setup for my main network, and generally speaking, it's worked very well and done what I would have expected, and been very reliable. However, on occasion, different laptops and computers when waking from sleep, will connect to the network, but will not be able to access the internet. The computer will show in the deco app, the computer shows that it's connected to wifi. But I have no actual internet access on that device. The other connected devices, laptops, phones, IOT are all still connectd and work file. So far, the only fix that I have found is to restart the computer that is having the issue. After rebooting, it normally works fine.  The network is composed of two nodes, that are not connected via ethernet backhaul, but instead just via the mesh wifi. Both of the nodes are hardware version 1.26.

This most recent instance, I do know that I had a VPN connected before the computer went to sleep. The other instances that this has happened, I'm not sure what the status of my VPN was. I have no idea if this has had some influence, but I figured I would include it.

If you have any suggestions for how to prevent this from happening, by changing settings, that would be great. Alternatively, I could look at trying to get amazon to replace my 1.26 version deco with a v1.6.

If you need any other information, please let me know.

Thanks so much.

Hi,

Will the issue happen as well when the laptops and computers connect to other WIFI?

Please check the adapter settings. Wi-Fi won't reconnect after sleep or hibernation

And you can also enable a guest network for your computers and confirm if the same issue will happen again.

  @Sunshine

Hello,

The computer will connect to other networks (i.e.a phone hotspot) and work no problem.

One of this computers I had this issue on is a Mac, so I cannot change that setting, and the other is a work laptop which I don't have permission to change that power management setting. However, on my third computer, I did just change the power management setting and unchecked that box.

Your guest network suggestion is a good one, I just set one up yesterday after writing this post, and will test if I can connect to that network, and reach the internet. However, this problem is very random as to when it occurs, and I have not been able to repeat it intentionally.

Thanks
