Need firmware file for Archer AX23 version 1.28 IN varient
Hello,
I recently purchased the archer ax23. it's version 1.28 IN. I'm trying to update the firmware locally from here
https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/download/archer-ax23/#Firmware
The page does not show a specific firmware for version 1.28 but it says "hardware version availability varies by region" and implies v1.20 should work for v1.28. But that is not the case. When I'm trying to locally upgrade via the downloaded file it's giving the wrong firmware error. Contacting customer care was of no help as they seemed clueless about this. So can any support staff please direct me to where i can get the latest firmware file for this router?

Support staff isn't much helpful about their own products ig. So here's what found after some digging. This particular router version has the same hardware as the US version even though it's written as IN. That is why the support page shows us firmware for download on the IN support page. But the IN version support page is outdated. The router came loaded with a newer version that was not available there. So after some searching I found the latest firmware for this router on SG support page.

Also version 1.28 as stated in the support page will support version 1.20 firmware. If the router gets bricked (only the orange led showing on the router) it can be rescued by flashing via recovery.

Updating to this firmware fixed the issues I was having. No issues so far.

Hi, thanks for posting questions here.
According the local official website you shared, it lists US version, but yours is IN version. So that should be the reason you failed to upgrade firmware.
I think IN version may be a customized model by some local ISPs, so we also failed to find firmware version of IN. If you purchased it from your ISP, please confirm with them.
If from local retailer, you may communicate with them or try to contact local support again. BTW, if the router works properly, firmware upgrade is not a necessary option and maybe you can not make sure the current is out of date.

It is not an ISP customized router. Got it from amazon. The router setting page is showing hardware version 1.20 but on the back of the router it's written as 1.28 (IN). So I'm guessing it's only region specific. But on the product support page the firmware is for US variant as you can see. Contacting support over call wasn't helpful as they didn't know either. So I'm asking here. I need the update firmware file as the router is having some connectivity issues that I've tried fixing with changing the wireless settings but it's not fixing them. So I want to flash the firmware update to see if it fixes the issue or not. Can you please find me the firmware file for this?
The current firmware installed is showing up as ver 1.1.0 Build 20230725 Rel. 55602(5553)
