Deco X50-5G - Request for Band Lock

Deco X50-5G - Request for Band Lock
Deco X50-5G - Request for Band Lock
Model: Deco X50-5G
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7

I kindly ask for band lock. Proper band lock when I select specifically the band(s) that serve me best.

I can understand that the system may choose the band that has stronger signal. But this should be done only when it is in auto mode.

When I select and lock a band that I prefer (because it is faster), I want the system to stick to this band, even if the signal of this band is weaker.

Can this be done please in a future firmware update?

Fyi the only way to achieve the band lock now is only if I also Cell lock this band. But this is not ideal because the band changes PCI values during the day. So we need to lock a band, and leave the PCI changes free.

Please ask devs to implement this. I believe it must be easy for them, as I see other 5G routers to work well with this option.

Many thanks.

Hi, Are you able to manually select a specific band here after disabling "auto" mode:

Thank you very much and best regards.

Thank you David. I already know about this option. This is how I choose the bands I want. The problem is that it does not work as intended. I select for example band N78 and during the day it changes to band N1 or N28 because probably they have stronger signal.

We kindly ask a fix for this.

Many thanks.

Any update on this? Is there any firmware update in Beta stage...?
I have seen that many owners of x50-5g need this feature to be perfected.

  @David-TP

Kind reminder to my request as I believe this feature is very very important.

We need to lock the band in order the router to stay connected to the band we select and not change to a band that has stronger signal (but is slower).

To be specific, I want the router to stay connected to Band n78 which is much faster (even if the signal is weak), rather than changing to Band N28 or N1 which have stronger signal but provide much slower speeds!

Right now we just have the option to a "preferred" band. I need the router to stay locked to the band I select even if the signal is not strong.

As explained cell lock is not helping because the PCI is changing.

Is there any intention please to add this option? I know that it can be done because I was doing so in my ZTE MC801A.

The reason I got the x50-5G was to add it my x60 deco network and I could not imagine that this option is not available.

Please let me know Tp-Link's intentions on this matter.

Many thanks.
